Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (Sprint) video tour – part 1 of 2

MobileBurn.com – The Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is the first version of the Galaxy S II smartphone to be available from a major US carrier. It features a couple of upgrades over the original Galaxy S II that we reviewed earlier this year. Namely, the screen is now 4.52 inches across, though it is still a WVGA, Super AMOLED Plus unit (which is no bad thing). The Epic 4G Touch sports a 1.2GHz, dual-core Samsung Exynos processor and 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and has the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. On the back is an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, and the front is home to a 2 megapixel camera for video chats. The rear camera can record video at 1080p HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution. Sprint will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch on September 16 for 9.99 with a new two-year agreement. Question by Mona Lea: Samsung Galaxy 551 or Samsung Wave 525?
I’ve already been watching some of the reviews of these phones but I wanna know which one is better. The smartphone or the android phone?

It seems like it comes down to the operating system. Android 2.2 or bada OS? Android 2.2 is a proven operating system considered the most stable operating system besides maybe iOS. bada is an interesting concept, but it seems late, buggy, and overall not worth it. I’d go for the Galaxy.

SAMSUNG GALAXY APOLLO REVIEW?

Question by BriCarsonn: SAMSUNG GALAXY APOLLO REVIEW?
I’m getting my first smartphone tomorrow. I had an LG rumour, but the keyboard stopped working on it because I was texting so much. I’ve had it for almost two years now… so I’m getting a new phone. I know the one I want, (samsung galaxy apollo) and I ust want to know if it’s a good phone. I’m on a pre-paid plan with telus and it gives me 250mb of data per months and unlimited texting (send and recieve), video and picture messaging. I also have a limited budget (Bank of mom) of $ 130 so the galaxy apollo is as high as she will go. I have a few questions….
1.) How is the texting on it? I know it’s a touch screen and they can lag sometimes. Since all I do is text, I don’t want to have a crappy keyboard.
2.) Is 250mb enough data? All I really want to use that for is going on facebook and stuff. If I go on facebook once or twice a day or a few minutes with the 250mb of data last me a month?
3.) Is it even a good phone? I’M IN LOVE WITH IT and since you can’t return it after you set it up and turn it on… I don’t want to be left with a sh*tty phone
4.) Camera? It’s like, 3. something mega pixels so that’s pretty good for a phone right?
5.) I’m also getting a micro SD card with 2 gb on it, so that should get me a decent amount of songs. Anyone have a ball park figure for how many songs I can get on it? Also, can I download apps onto the SD card and have the dowloaded apps put into my phone? And, if my phone memory is full, will it save some stuff onto the SD card?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Oh, I’m a fifteen year-old girl. Do you think it would be good enough for me?

The Apollo has a lot going for it thanks to its speedy performance, multi-touch support, and good battery life. However, the small screen means that it can feel a little bit fiddly to use for web browsing and although it’s not exactly priced to an excessive level, it does look expensive next to the cheaper Orange San Francisco that we’ll be looking at soon.

I believe Samsung is in the process of rolling out the Gingerbread (2.3) update now. You may be able to find a ROM online and flash your device, but that’s going to be tricky and probably won’t work to well. CyanogenMod, which is a popular custom ROM released for a lot of devices, isn’t quite working on the Galaxy Tab yet.
